Hi Remy, Sorry about that, I'm glad you found that issue and figured out a way to get the old file. I will need to include the csv file in the current version and going forward. I did find a replacement songnameslist.csv that a brother put together for me that has the lyrics for all 224 songs. You will find it in the downloads list under a folder called Old Song Support.
I have downloaded this latest version in the hope that it might solve my problem. When I try to burn a CD I get a variety of errors the main one is that the file is too large to fit on the disc. Any help would be appreciated.
The error you are seeing is related to the fact that only about 65 minutes of audio (not MP3 files) will fit on a single CD. Are you wanting to burn audio CDs or data CDs that contain MP3 files?
KMC defaults the burn request to audio, if you want audio you need to limit the file sizes. If you want data, click the small drop down menu while in Windows Media Player in the upper right area to change the setting from Audio CD to Data CD or DVD. You should find this menu under the word 'Sync'.
Is it possible to increase the quality of the MP3 recordings? They seem to be 96kbps, but I would prefer them to be at least 128kbps to make them a bit clearer. I can't see a way to change this in the program.
I'll have to add the ability to change the bit rate. We decided to hard code it when the branch sent the letter with some technical instructions. Look for a new release soon.
The latest version of KMC has multiple bit rates to choose from. I also discovered that I did not have the correct sampling rate selected. Therefore 96kbps will sound great now for voice.
Also, when using both version 2.42 and version 3.1.1 on a Windows XP machine, selecting a file and clicking "Burn CD" opens up Windows Media Player for some reason, and then nothing happens. It does not burn the file to CD. Do you know why this is happening?
This is by design. Use windows media center to do the burning and close it when your done. You can watch an Operations training video that should help clarify the usage. The videos are under the training tab.
Hi Bryan, many people operating the sound system are not technically minded. Therefore, would you consider releasing a simple version of kingdom media center which literally just plays songs, records the meeting and will burn a disc.Also with a minimal/plain look to the interface? Kind of a kingdom media center for dummies!

If everything goes normal, KMC should automatacially download the music files for the chosen language to the c:\ drive / folder. When done it will unzip it and copy it to the correct location. It appears that the download did not complete or failed for some reason.
You can manually download the the music zip file, unzip and install them here:

Hi Brian, I have set up an administrator account and 2 user accounts in windows 7. The 'manage recording' tab will open o.k when logged in as the administrator,but when i click the 'manage recordings' tab when logged in as any other user i get a message saying 'can't find a part of the file path for the music folder. Also, when logged in as either of the standard users, the program will appear to record o.k, but no recording is saved in the music folder. The program is installed for use by everyone. I tried adding a new user on my laptop at home, and the program works fine. Could this be due to user account control in windows 7?
Hi Bryan, Really appreciate the hard work you put in to provide such a simple system for us to use. My query, from here in England, is with regards 3.1.1 on an XP machine. Our songs have started to 'lull' for no reason at all. It started with the middle song of each meeting only, for 3 meetings it played but at a reduced volume level, even though the console volume level was max,10, when we normally use 5. We have checked the internal PC volume levels to see if they had dropped, but everything is okay. We are going back to using CD's until this is resolved,as it has started happening at the first song too. We have tried as many variables as possible, stacking the songs, not stacking them. Doing so with and without the phone link on. Doing all those with and without the recording taking place. We are just wondering if there might be something that can be done from your end to help us please? We downloaded our programme around March time. Have we missed an update, or have you heard of this issue before?
Hi I'm wondering if the new Dell Lattitude 10 Tablet with windows 8 would work well with your system. New to this, looking for small enough unit, yet able to fully accomplish what it is supposed to do. See link above.
Looking at the specifications, it should work fine. The only concern is when it says: "Stereo headphone / Microphone combo jack" you will just need to come up with the right cable for separating the input from the output, for playback vs. recording.
Let me know if you buy one and try it and how it goes. Would like to know if it will be an option for others.
I have been trying the KMC successfully in a VM, and have today installed it onto a fresh 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium box. All updated, .Net4 etc
Each time I press to start recording I get an error: Unhandled exception has occurred in your application..... Value does not fall within the expected range
I have pasted the contents of 'Details' below.
The record does happen, clicking continue gets rid of the error and the record completes and saves. If it were just me on the sound desk I could put up with this, but it isn't just me, and I really want it running smoothly.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled .Net, and the KMC. I am wondering if the error is to do with the 4th line down where it's looking for C:\Users\bryan\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\KMC\KMC3\form1.vb:line 4588

Hi Bryan, I installed kingdom media center 3.4.1 on a newly installed version of windows 7 professional 64 bit.The .net framework software was missing, so kingdom media center showed an error. I installed the .net framework software but still get an error message. The error says:- An error occurred creating the form. See exception.inner exception for details.The error is :element not found (exception from HRESULT:0x80070490) Any ideas?
Hi Bryan, Further to the comment/question above. I have reinstalled windows 7 professional 64 bit, fully updated windows. Then installed the .net framework software, and fully updated it. Then installed kingdom media center, and still get the same error message about .net framework. Kingdom media center is running with full administrator privileges, and is running in compatibility mode for windows xp service pack 2.(which was suggested by windows troubleshooting) I did notice a suggestion on your website about registering the dll files. I tried this, and it is still the same. I am now stuck. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Hello Bryan, I help setup the sound for our KH of 3 congregation and train the users how to use any updates. I downloaded your KMC Setup 3.3 XP sofetware to my Dell C640 laptop see if this program could serve to replace our old system for music player. Ths interface is good. We have younger user who are all smart device users. After update Frameworks4 net and starting KMC I received the error message: 1. Unhandled exception has occurred in your application... 2. Could not found music files... Just a note we here in Baton Rouge, La. have had problem downloading jw.org music zip file. It will lockup at 23%. So we have downloaded each song to directory. After starting KMC and trying to enter song my Laptop when into error message runtime and would not stop. I could not Crtl-Alt-Del. To get Win XP back I had to let battery run out and restart Laptop. 1. Can you include more setup instructions in the user manuel? 2. Can you indicate what is reccomend system setup for software? 3. Seems like a great program and an asset for smooth meetings, congrats on that. I have a couple of questions regarding operating systems. Noticed in an earlier comment that KMC should work with Windows 8 on a tablet, presumably it works with touch screen functions... is that correct? Second... any plans for an "android" release? Again noticed in an earlier comment your not planning any Linux release, so I assume not.
I found that you need speakers plugged into the PC for the software to load. If there is no internal speaker it will not work, without giving an Net Frame error. Reloaded windows four times and net framework. Simple as plugging in a cable to the speaker port.
Have you tried to compile this into Linux, for Xubuntu or ubuntu?
I should probably catch that error when it is thrown and pop a window indicating that no valid port was found for playing music on. Thanks for sharing and sorry for the frustration....

I have just one suggestion: we often have sound operators who forget to start recording right at the beginning of the meeting. If there could be an optional reminder when playing the first song that recording is not yet started, or even an option to autostart recording when playing the first song, that would be even better. ReplyDeleteI have set up an administrator account and 2 user accounts in windows 7.
The 'manage recording' tab will open o.k when logged in as the administrator,but when i click the 'manage recordings' tab when logged in as any other user i get a message saying 'can't find a part of the file path for the music folder. Also, when logged in as either of the standard users, the program will appear to record o.k, but no recording is saved in the music folder.
The program is installed for use by everyone.
I tried adding a new user on my laptop at home, and the program works fine.
Could this be due to user account control in windows 7?

ReplyDeleteWe always set the users as admin just so we don't encounter any User Account Control issues. On Vista it was pretty bad, but on Win 7, not so much.

ReplyDeleteReally appreciate the hard work you put in to provide such a simple system for us to use.
My query, from here in England, is with regards 3.1.1 on an XP machine.
Our songs have started to 'lull' for no reason at all.
It started with the middle song of each meeting only, for 3 meetings it played but at a reduced volume level, even though the console volume level was max,10, when we normally use 5.
We have checked the internal PC volume levels to see if they had dropped, but everything is okay.
We are going back to using CD's until this is resolved,as it has started happening at the first song too.
We have tried as many variables as possible, stacking the songs, not stacking them. Doing so with and without the phone link on. Doing all those with and without the recording taking place. We are just wondering if there might be something that can be done from your end to help us please? We downloaded our programme around March time. Have we missed an update, or have you heard of this issue before?

Looking at the specifications, it should work fine. The only concern is when it says: "Stereo headphone / Microphone combo jack" you will just need to come up with the right cable for separating the input from the output, for playback vs. recording.

ReplyDeleteI have been trying the KMC successfully in a VM, and have today installed it onto a fresh 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium box. All updated, .Net4 etc
Each time I press to start recording I get an error: Unhandled exception has occurred in your application..... Value does not fall within the expected range
I have pasted the contents of 'Details' below.
The record does happen, clicking continue gets rid of the error and the record completes and saves. If it were just me on the sound desk I could put up with this, but it isn't just me, and I really want it running smoothly.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled .Net, and the KMC. I am wondering if the error is to do with the 4th line down where it's looking for C:\Users\bryan\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\KMC\KMC3\form1.vb:line 4588
Hope you can help, and great work on what is a really well designed program!

Downloaded KMC for the first time but I am having problems loading the songs each time I go to setting and click download now it gives a message

You can manually download the the music zip file, unzip and install them here:

Be sure that you are using a Windows admin account.
You can also try lowering the UAC (User Account Control) setting in Windows, depending on what version of Windows you are using.

ReplyDeleteI installed kingdom media center 3.4.1 on a newly installed version of windows 7 professional 64 bit.The .net framework software was missing, so kingdom media center showed an error. I installed the .net framework software but still get an error message.
The error says:- An error occurred creating the form. See exception.inner exception for details.The error is :element not found (exception from HRESULT:0x80070490) Any ideas?

ReplyDeleteFurther to the comment/question above. I have reinstalled windows 7 professional 64 bit, fully updated windows. Then installed the .net framework software, and fully updated it. Then installed kingdom media center, and still get the same error message about .net framework. Kingdom media center is running with full administrator privileges, and is running in compatibility mode for windows xp service pack 2.(which was suggested by windows troubleshooting) I did notice a suggestion on your website about registering the dll files. I tried this, and it is still the same. I am now stuck. Any ideas would be appreciated.

ReplyDeleteI help setup the sound for our KH of 3 congregation and train the users how to use any updates. I downloaded your KMC Setup 3.3 XP sofetware to my Dell C640 laptop see if this program could serve to replace our old system for music player. Ths interface is good. We have younger user who are all smart device users. After update Frameworks4 net and starting KMC I received the error message:
1. Unhandled exception has occurred in your application...
2. Could not found music files...
Just a note we here in Baton Rouge, La. have had problem downloading jw.org music zip file. It will lockup at 23%. So we have downloaded each song to directory.
After starting KMC and trying to enter song my Laptop when into error message runtime and would not stop. I could not Crtl-Alt-Del. To get Win XP back I had to let battery run out and restart Laptop.
1. Can you include more setup instructions in the user manuel?
2. Can you indicate what is reccomend system setup for software?
3. Will future upgrades run on Apple Ipad?

ReplyDeleteSeems like a great program and an asset for smooth meetings, congrats on that. I have a couple of questions regarding operating systems. Noticed in an earlier comment that KMC should work with Windows 8 on a tablet, presumably it works with touch screen functions... is that correct?
Second... any plans for an "android" release? Again noticed in an earlier comment your not planning any Linux release, so I assume not.

I found that you need speakers plugged into the PC for the software to load. If there is no internal speaker it will not work, without giving an Net Frame error. Reloaded windows four times and net framework. Simple as plugging in a cable to the speaker port.

DeleteI should probably catch that error when it is thrown and pop a window indicating that no valid port was found for playing music on. Thanks for sharing and sorry for the frustration....

I found the problem with the recording was due to not having an sound input going into the pc.

I have just one suggestion: we often have sound operators who forget to start recording right at the beginning of the meeting. If there could be an optional reminder when playing the first song that recording is not yet started, or even an option to autostart recording when playing the first song, that would be even better.
